The eighties called. They want their dip back.
Back in the eighties, French Onion Dip was made with a packet of French Onion Soup Mix. It’s 2012 and it’s time to do French Onion Dip right.
Ingredients for French Onion Dip:
1-1/2 cups sour cream or Greek yogurt
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup caramelized onions
1 Tablespoon finely minced celery
1 Tablespoon finely minced green onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
salt & pepper to taste
NOTES: Makes about 3 cups dip. Serve with potato chips and cut vegetables, use as a baked potato topper or as a spread for sandwiches and burgers. Keep refrigerated. Watch the How to Make French Onion Dip Video, give it a thumbs up and please subscribe to my channel on YouTube.
Directions for French Onion Dip:
1) Caramelize onions. Allow onions to cool.
2) In a bowl combine all ingredients.
3) For best results refrigerate overnight, or at least two hours.

This sounds very good and will go into my “to try soon” collection of recipes. I must admit I grew up in the French onion soup dip era and I am still quite fond of the dip made that way.
