Babble Vlog! I love Club Sandwiches! But I typically don’t make the jaw-unhinging, double-decker variety served in restaurants. So I wonder, is it the third piece of bread that makes a Club Sandwich a Club Sandwich? Check out my video, Getting into Club Sandwich at Babble’s Family Kitchen and find out!

Love it! I’m a huge club sandwich fan and I always give high marks to any restaurant that can do it well. I’ve been known to make the double-decker variety but since I make my own bread, I can slice it a bit thinner than normal, so the three slices are really only about the same heft as two regular slices. I like turkey and bacon on the main floor, then put the tomato, lettuce and cheese upstairs. Three slices of bread also allows for more mayo opportunities, if your the kind of person that likes opportunities for mayo.

In spite of the fact Club sandwiches are old hat they are still tasty. I’ve made them with and without the 3rd piece of bread. I prefer a touch of dijon with the mayo and always made only when I have real chicken or turkey breast to slice. Smoked turkey is even better but not mandatory with really good bacon. I know there is some pretty good deli turkey out there but it just seems wrong in a club sandwich.

I think the beauty of sandwiches is that you can make them your own — exactly how you like them. I love that you all love sandwiches and have shared how you like them :) What sandwich should I go for next…
