What’s your favorite salad? What salad recipes would you like to see?
Have you seen the film, The Endless Summer? It’s an epic documentary about two surfers traveling the world in search of the perfect wave. With summer fast approaching here in Cali, it got me thinking about my own “endless summer” pursuit, and I think I’ve got it: The perfect salad.
While redesigning the web site and organizing my recipes into SUBCATEGORIES (woo hoo!) I noticed that the Salad category is desolate. There is a reason for this, which has to do with what recipes people are searching for on the internets; not surprisingly, salad isn’t a very popular search. However, despite salad’s unpopularity, it’s time to stop the salad neglect! I love salad, especially in the summertime. With warm summer nights here in SoCal, I can literally eat salad for dinner every night! And I know there are others out there that love salad, too.

I try to give you what you want, and I do this by reviewing site searches and keywords typed into Google that bring you here. And though I’m overjoyed that my Baja Fish Taco recipe is popular, and my Chocolate Pudding Filled Cupcakes have helped to celebrate a number of birthdays, I feel like I’m depriving you of your leafy greens.
I have a lot of great salad recipes. So this summer I submit to you: The Endless Summer of Salad. What salad recipe would you like to see? What about salad dressing recipes? Are you a salad lover?

Girl the new site rocks, love love it!!!!
If you are taking requests, here’s what I would love: A wasabi salad dressing recipe, do you have one? I eat this at a restaurant all the time over shredded cabbage and black sesame seeds, it’s nice and spicy and sweet, I’d love to make it at home!

I am so developing a recipe based on your wonderful description, Savory TV! It was a bummer to miss Aspen – but my family was happy I was around for Father’s Day and graduations. My MIL and SIL are pretty great cooks and the champagne flows like beer… so it was almost like being in Aspen :)

Oh! Savory TV! A spicy, sweet wasabi dressing? That sounds right up my alley. I may have a few more questions for you – I’m definitely going to concoct something! And thanks for the love on the site – it was long overdue!!!
Oh, I do have this Spicy Asian Dressing and dipping sauce that I love over cabbage :) A girlfriend of mine showed me how to make it – it’s pretty authentic: http://www.averagebetty.com/recipes/spicy-asian-dipping-sauce-recipe/

The dipping sauce looks great, I’ll try it soon!
I’m not sure how the restaurant makes the wasabi dressing, but it’s a light green creamy dressing and tastes like it has some citrus, orange maybe. They serve Asian noodles and black sesame over the cabbage. If you develop a recipe I’d love to try it!
My new favorite salad ingredient these days is mache lettuce. I can’t buy it locally but buy the Epic Roots brand, it’s nutrient packed, has a nutty flavor, and is really gorgeous on a plate.
Hope all is well and Aspen is not the same without you! I’ve been behind the scenes and crashing/attending some private events ;)

Buffalo chicken salad, blue cheese and bacon, but low fat? Is that possible? My popular salad is potato salad, not really a salad. I think salads should have lettuce.
