The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, is an event Betty looks forward to every year! She is, after all, a huge art geek and boy does she love music. And of course she loves good food! But unless you’re one of the rock stars (or you just roll like one) partaking in the fabulous VIP catering, you’re on your own with the snack vendors. Don’t get Betty wrong, she loves a good corn dog as much as the next gal, but when faced with a marathon day of fun in the sun, having something a little more nourishing is key to lasting long into the beautiful Coachella night! Enter the Teriyaki Chicken Plate Lunch:
A Plate Lunch is a carb-rich, comforting meal guaranteed to fill you up and keep you going. A traditional Hawaiian Plate Lunch consists of white rice, macaroni salad and an entree (Betty prefers teriyaki chicken or fish)… perfect picnic fare! Whether at home (photo on left) or tailgating (photo on right), let Betty show you how she rolls in Teriyaki Chicken Plate Lunch style!
COACHELLA BY DAY
Even in April, temperatures in the Coachella Valley can top 100 degrees during the day. Thankfully, it was much cooler this year! Music, art and blue skies abounded. The Do Lab (top right) is a rave-party-water-park and a Coachella staple. You can see all of Betty’s photos on Facebook. Friend her up while you’re there!
COACHELLA BY NIGHT
When the sun goes down, the bands heat up! And this year, so did a lot of the art work. Fire-breathing mechanical dragons (bottom left) set the stage for the smokin’ hot MIA performance (bottom right) and The Killers (top left). And though the sun has set on Coachella 2009, Coachella rises again in 2010… will you be there? See all of Betty’s photos on Facebook.
WHAT’S BETTY UP TO?
Betty will be covering the 7th Annual Kraft Grilled Cheese Invitational on Saturday, April 25th in Downtown LA! The GCI Founder, Tim Walker, describes the competition as “the greatest combination of bravery and unnecessarily competitive cheese the world has seen,” and Betty can hardly wait to witness the cheese-themed poetry, cheesy music and competitive cheese grilling action! Looks to be a cheese-tastic time!

Betty’s Incredible Spreadable Butter photo was hand-picked on Food Proof! Food Proof is a lively food community and Betty had some great butter-banter with member, Chris Lehrer, a food-blogger who is having One Delicious Year eating his way through Kyoto, Japan.
Photograzing, Tastespotting and TipNut also showed Betty’s Butter some love! Talk about spreadin’ the love :)
