asian beef noodle

Ingredients for Asian Beef Noodle:
beefy noodle
3/4 cup julienned carrots
1/2 cup diced onion
1/3 cup chopped green onion (aka spring onion)
3 cloves minced garlic
3 cups coarsely chopped green cabbage (or bok choy, napa - whatever you like)
1 1/2 cups grilled steak (chopped into bite sized pieces)
10 oz. dry linguine noodles
2 eggs
1/4 - 1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp or more to taste Sriracha
black pepper to taste
sesame seeds to taste
canola oil for cooking

beefy_noodles_wait
What’s your beef?

beefy_noodles_wait
Boil noodles and rinse with cold water. Set aside.

beefy_raw
Cut top sirloin or similar steak into thin(ish) strips. Season with a small amount of olive oil, black pepper, cayenne pepper and dash of salt.

beefy_grill
Grill steak over high heat. About 3 minutes (medium-rare). Remove from heat and wrap in aluminum foil. Set aside. (Don’t worry if you like your steak more well-done - it will continue to cook in the foil and when added to the noodles.)

beefy_cuts
When steak has cooled, slice into bite sized chunky chunks. Set aside.

beefy_eggs
Scramble 2 eggs in 1 tsp canola oil. Add a few cracks of black pepper to eggs. Cook till slightly browned. Remove from pan.

beefy_saute_veg
Saute onion, carrots and green onion in 1 tsp canola oil. Season with black pepper. Remove from pan.

beefy_saute_noodles
Heat 1 tbsp. canola oil in pan. Add noodles to medium-hot saute pan. Stir-fry noodles for several minutes allowing noodles to de-glaze (de-coat) all the flavorful bits of onion/egg.

beefy_soy_noodles
Sprinkle with soy sauce, 1 tbsp butter and toss.

beefy_chinese_noodles
Add a dose of Asian hot sauce and keep tossing.

beefy_cabbage_noodles
Incorporate fresh cabbage.

beefy_sauted_add
Add back the egg, sauteed vegetables and minced garlic.

beefy_beef_add
Add chopped grilled steak.

beefy_saute_complete
Finish with a dash of soy sauce. Toss, toss, toss.
Serve with steamed broccoli. And Betty loves a sprinkle of sesame seeds!
This dish can be made without steak, or you can substitute with chicken, pork or shrimp.
This recipe serves four. For easiest clean-up, use the same pot to boil the noodles, scramble eggs, saute veggies and stir-fry noodles. A one pot meal? Now that’s a novel idea…

i watched the Fajquito video on yahoo thinking it was one of the ridiculous spoofs or wanna-be “jackass” clips but I was pleasantly surprised…..a culinary instructional video with a twist…a sexy and humorous teacher/narrator that creatively shows how to make a delicious mexican fare:)……awesome!

Hello Ms. Betty, I tried the Mac n’ Cheese recipie after barhopping a few nights ago and was quite pleased - and so were my friends - but I had to know: why do you instruct to rinse the noodles? That washes off a gret deal of the pasta’s flavor and vitamins.

    Just curious!

Hi Sebs! Thank you so much for trying my recipes and watching my silly videos! That makes my day ;)

    To your question!

I usually rinse the hot noodles so they cool faster, stop cooking and don’t stick together…. Most Asian recipes call for cold noodles or rice before the pan frying, so I guess you could cook the noodles then chill em’ down instead of rinsing:)

It’s good to know I am rinsing away vitamins… I did not know that!

Thanks for stopping by the site, Sebs! It’s great to hear from you!

Please let me know if you have any more questions… I am happy to help! And if you have any requests or ideas for me… bring em on!

    xo,
    Betty
