Do you take photos of your food? Do you want to remember those short ribs and share that sorbet? Well, experts think you might be crazy for food photos.
Smartphones and social media have made it easier than ever to have friends enjoy a meal with you. Thanks to Instagram, twitter and Facebook, 52% of people take photos of their food with mobile phones and 19% upload those photos to the web. And while this data and handy infographic is from 2011, I can only imagine these numbers have gotten bigger.
In more recent findings, mental health expert, Dr. Valerie Taylor claims that over sharing photos of your food may cause you to develop “unhealthy weight disorders and lead to weight problems.” In other words, food porn can make you food obsessed and, well, crazy for more food.
I’ll admit it. I take photos of my food and I use Instagram to share them to Facebook and twitter at the same time. Am I crazy for food photos? Are you?

Rob, I couldn’t agree with you more – when you pay close attention to what you are eating, the ingredients and the preparation, you are bound to eat more healthfully :)

You know what is worst for me than people that takes photography with flash in restaurants? It’s people taking loud, people on their cell and kids that cries. At least if I take pics I don’t bother anyone :) Both I don’t use flash simply because I don’t like to use it.
