What are your highlights from 2009? Leave a comment.
As I look forward to publishing new Average Betty recipes and videos in 2010, I reflect on some of the highlights of 2009… one of those highlights was producing a video for I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and their new Turn the Tub Around campaign.
Turns out the ICBINB team likes my production and I am a FINALIST in their Turn the Tub Around contest! This means my video has a chance of airing on a national television commercial during the season premier of American Idol on Tuesday, January 12, 2010! If you are an Idol fan, please watch to see if my video makes it on the air.
UPDATE! The finalist videos are now featured on the ICBINB Watch Vote & Win Sweepstakes web site! Two finalist videos go head-to-head (for voting) each week, and my video is scheduled for voting during Week 7 (week of February 23, 2010) and Week 15 (week of April 20, 2010). To vote simply go to turnthetubaround.com and remember you can vote for my video (Sara O’Donnell) during Week 7 and Week 15. You’ll be entered to win daily prizes, as well as a Grand Prize trip to Los Angeles! See web site for more details.
To produce the video, ICBINB sent me and a number of fellow food bloggers a Flip HD camera, a giant tub of ICBINB, and an instructional video on the Turn the Tub Around song and signature dance move. It was then my job to sing, dance and produce an original music video to the instrumental version of the Turn the Tub Around song. But let’s be honest: I’m not a triple threat. I only hope to avoid the obvious comparisons to William Hung.
These photos are screen captures from the video to give you the buttery flavor. The video was shot entirely using the small Flip Ultra HD camera in various parts of Venice, California. The weather couldn’t have been better for a November afternoon; it felt like summer and the rich sunlight was ideal for shooting with the Flip.
My TTTA video is published on the Watch Vote & Win Sweepstakes page and it’s scheduled for voting during the week of February 23, 2010, and the week of April 20, 2010. I will definitely need your vote!
OFF TO THE TASTY AWARDS!
Team Betty is off to the Tasty Awards in San Francisco this week! Thanks to everyone that voted for me and shared kind words of support! Win or lose, it’s heartwarming to have so many great people rally behind Average Betty and say such sweet things about my life’s passion. I’m not sure what the wireless internet situation will be at the Tasty Awards, but assuming there is a connection I will be on Twitter and TwitPic to share the experience as the event unfolds.
