FAST FOOD FIVE: ROCK THE FOOD


Betty had a great time at the 13th Annual UCLA Extension Restaurant Industry Conference! There were great people, delicious food and plenty of laughs playing the Fast Food Five! Anthony Bourdain, Kevin Lyman, Jonathan Gold and Roy Choi all played the very first Rock the Food edition of the Fast Food Five! What food does Kevin Lyman associate with Radiohead? WHAT’S BETTY BEEN UP TO?


Thanks to Tilzy.tv, Betty attended the 1st Annual Streamy Awards at the Wadsworth Theatre. Here she is with Neil Patrick Harris whose Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog was a big winner of the night. You can see all of Betty’s photos in her Facebook Album. Friend her up while you’re there!

BETTY’S BIG BUTTER BLUNDER!

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Nobody’s perfect. Especially Average Betty. And Betty feels just terrible about it. In Betty’s last recipe she omitted the quantity of butter in the ingredient list. Big thanks to Walter from Denver for alerting Betty to the omission and sorry for the confusion!

From four tablespoons of butter to eight, from buttermilk to whole milk to heavy cream, chocolate chips, even cinnamon and sugar… it seems everyone had good results with the Scones. Phew! Betty loves all the recipe hacking… be sure to send in your pictures! And give her a tweet!

Holy blueberries, Betty! Big Dance Buttermilk Blueberry Scones were included on both Tastespotting and Photograzing! Truly a very sweet treat!

Jan Garrabrandt from the beautiful Artist’s Inn and Gallery in Lancaster County, PA sent the above pic of her scones being served at breakfast. Jan wrote, “I served the blueberry scones and lemon curd on Saturday morning. Guests loved both and I gave them your website.” Your scones look fabulous, Jan!
