Presidential elections never seem to be in short supply of campaign slogans, and this time around is certainly no exception. Millions of dollars are paid to the masterminds behind such classic slogans as: let the conversation begin, fired up and ready to go, a leader we can believe in, ready on day one, country first, change we can believe in, and of course, sí se puede!
“Sí se puede,” or yes we can, seems to be a crowd favorite. And with Senator Betty slated to speak at the National Convention to endorse her former opponent as the Party’s nominee, how will she handle herself if the crowd breaks into a chant of “sí se puede?” After all, Senator Betty appeared to have the Latino vote.
Will Senator Betty embrace the inspirational message of “sí se puede”? Will the chant of “sí se puede” cause Senator Betty to snap? Will Caprese Paninis become the official food of political national conventions? Watch Caprese Se Puede to find out!

Advertising sponsors are the key to a successful show, and Betty owes it all to YOU for watching the videos and visiting the web site for recipes. Without you, there would be no Average Betty.
HELP SUPPORT BETTY’S SPONSORS!

WHAT’S BETTY WATCHING?
Mark Day Comedy! Chances are you’re probably already dialed-in to Mark Day Comedy because he’s so freaking funny and popular. But if you’re not, you really need to check out Mark Day’s videos. He’s not Irish (he’s Scottish) and he’s not keen on excessive smiley faces or punctuation. But he is a very talented stand-up comedian that makes hilarious videos. Check Mark out!
The Clip Show Another show you’re probably already aware of because it, too, is the bomb, is The Clip Show. If you are a fan of The View or Oprah, then The Clip Show is probably not for you. But if you like The Daily Show or Letterman, then The Clip Show is right up your alley. Not only are Clip Show episodes funny, informative and extremely well-produced, but Jim Kirks and Charlie Baker are two of the coolest, nicest and wittiest guys you’ll meet. Betty recently had the pleasure of hanging out with Jim and Charlie at the New Media Expo in Vegas!
Strike.TV Betty recently heard about Strike.TV on her local NPR station (KCRW, Santa Monica – the greatest radio station in the world). Strike.TV was formed during the recent writers’ strike, hence the name. Clever, huh? Anyway, Strike.TV is best described as traditional media meets new media; they are loaded with traditional media talent (actors, writers and producers), but they are using new media distribution methods. Navigate over to Strike.TV, check out all of the great content they already have online and sign up for their beta service.
Betty’s Flapjacks were truly honored to appear on the homepage of Serious Eats! If you haven’t checked out Photograzing and Serious Eats… feast your eyes on some great food content and photos (and upload some of your own)!
Betty the Unicorn Fritter made the Revver Blog Video of the Day! Reviewed simply, “Wow, the combination of three of my loves – Average Betty, Planet Unicorn, and food. Life is good.” Thanks, Uncle Alex and Revver! Betty loves you!
WHAT’S BETTY UP TO?
Gearing up for a live show! It’s still in development, but Betty’s excited about adding a live component to Average Betty! Interviewing the awesome Steve Garfield at NME/Vegas (thanks LA New Media and USTREAM.TV) definitely got Betty interested in streaming live video. She has some cool interviews lined up, so now it’s just a matter of getting the technology right. What do you think? Would you watch a live Average Betty show? Better yet, would you interact with a live Betty show?

BETTY SHOUTOUTS!
BIG shoutout to John & Christine, two of Betty’s closest friends, who tied the knot on 8-8-08 in Malibu, CA. It was truly a perfect day and night for a wedding… warm, clear weather; an amazing ocean view from an incredible estate; a stunningly beautiful bride in an equally beautiful dress; a strikingly handsome groom; a fairytale-like sunset and twilight; and a great group of family and friends to help celebrate. For dinner there was a delicious choice of salmon or filet mignon, and there was an awesome cupcake wedding cake for dessert! Congratulations, John & Christine! May your marriage be as beautiful as your wedding.
Thanks for watching!

We made something simlair for my graduation open house. They were a huge hit! My (carnivorous) friend had the brilliant idea of sticking a half-inch square of oven-baked bacon between the cheese and tomato. Was an even HUGER hit.
