Do I even need to tell you that pork wins the internet?
It’s not Grumpy Cat or the Laughing Baby. Sure, Kimye can give bacon some real competition but nothing gets people riled up on social media like bacon. And pulled pork really brings out the crazy.
In fact, a recent study by The Pork Board of 30 million social media posts reveals: Americans love to share food with hot flavors, crispy textures, spices, bacon and cheese.
And in an attempt to break the internet based on these findings, The Pork Board created the Cheesy Maple Bacon Cajun Pulled Pork Sandwich with Crispy Roasted Potatoes and Sriracha Yogurt.
As luck would have it, The Pork Board generously offered a lunch delivery of this data drenched, statistically relevant sandwich AKA America’s Most Mouthwatering Mashup AKA the Cheesy Maple Bacon Cajun Pulled Pork Sandwich, and how could I possibly refuse?
It’s just not humanly possible.
And I’m only human.
Resisting both maple bacon and Cajun spiced pulled pork is beyond my realm of self control and the entire internet has my back. Throw in some sharp cheddar cheese and Sriracha and all inhibitions are out the window.
And don’t forget, we’re talking lunch delivered to my house.
I’m a mom now and I never eat a real lunch.
This lunch has a sandwich with two kinds of pork wrapped in crisp paper and tied up with a piece of twine.
And we need look no further than Pinterest to know the effect that twine has on women.
Twine says to women, “I’m important but not pretentious.”
But really.
Aside from the infographic and twine… it’s a sandwich.
A mouthwatering, melting, crispy, spicy sandwich served up with a side of Roasted Potatoes and Sriracha Yogurt.
And we American’s do love our sandwiches, don’t we?
According to the Pork Board’s research, due to the diversity of Americans across our great country, “people are sharing more exotic flavors and trendy preparation methods [on social media] than ever before.”
We’re also sharing a whole lot of bacon.
