This spooky season I’m sharing the coolest ghoulishness I’ve seen Around the Wicked Web…
Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead is a holiday of Mexican origin where family and friends gather to honor loved ones who have died. Celebrated to coincide with the Catholic holiday All Souls Day, festivals across Los Angeles start in late October and run through early November.
Friend and fellow Los Angelina, Nicole from Presley’s Pantry on YouTube demonstrates how to decorate a basic sugar cookie to resemble an ornate Catrina inspired masterpiece.
In her video, Nicole starts with a simple, crispy sugar cookie. With a few squeezes of icing and several delicate brushstrokes, she creates an elegant, ornate treat that would do any Dia De Los Muertos altar proud.
Whatever you do, don’t miss the end of the video. It’s an an eerie, yet beautiful shocker!
Nicole’s recipe for Crispy Sugar Cookies made with Mazola Oil is coming to her blog soon. If you can’t wait to get decorating, check out my Classic Sugar Cookies Recipe.
