In an electric mixer, cream:
1 cup butter
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
Gradually add:
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Scrape down sides of mixer bowl and add 2 eggs. Cream thoroughly.
Gradually add 2 1/4 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour. Cream thoroughly.
On lowest mixer speed, or by hand, fold 12 ounces of semi-sweet morsels into dough.
Makes 4-5 dozen traditional drop cookies.
Let the dough chill out in the refrigerator before you ever try to use it!
But, when you are ready…
For traditional drop cookies, preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 10-11 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
For small molds and shapes, preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 12-15 minutes in lined mold.
For a larger pan cookie, preheat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 17-20 minutes in lined pan.
