U.C.L.A. Fight! Fight! Fight!
When I was a kid, my Grandmother offered up the carrot: $10 for straight A’s.
My older sister got it all the time. My other siblings got the $10 prize every now and then.
I finally delivered a Hamilton-worthy report card in college. At my apartment, I posted my perfect report card on the refrigerator. And my roommates gave me a hard time about it, like roommates do. They teased that I shouldn’t spend the ten bucks all in one place. But it wasn’t about the ten bucks, and they knew that.
Being written up so graciously by fellow-Bruin, Jenna Maffucci in The Daily Bruin, makes me feel like I got straight A’s this quarter. Even though I graduated from college over a decade ago.
A check for ten bucks isn’t coming in the mail. And my refrigerator isn’t even magnetic anymore. But a shout-out from The Daily Bruin is totally, 4.0!
