As a result, the cast of players has been reduced to an intimate handful, and with the field this narrow it’s imperative for the candidates still standing to refrain from doing anything stupid!
At the top of the stupid list is having an extra-marital affair, and if you want to elevate that to super-stupid, have the affair with a Washington lobbyist!
Perhaps not as stupid, but just as politically dangerous, is the waffle or flip-flop. If you’re in the race for high political office, you have to know that waffling on a position is as advisable as joking about a bomb in an airport.
