I have to laugh when I hear parents say, “Me and the kids are carving pumpkins.” Chances are, it’s Mom or Dad showing off the the artistic knife skills in the family… not the kiddies.
Because, let’s face it, pumpkin carving is dangerous. No Halloween activity has more potential to send someone to the ER than pumpkin carving.
But, there is also no Halloween tradition more rewarding than making a jack-o-lantern to alert the neighborhood you’re open for business on the spookiest night of the year. And the pumpkin seeds hiding inside that masterpiece are everyone’s reward.
