You probably have everything on hand you need to make these Super Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies too.
And you want to hear something really crazy?
But please don’t let that stop you from making them.
Just because these Super Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies are vegan, doesn’t mean they’re health food.
Ingredients for Super Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies:
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/4 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup canola oil
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
coarse salt for garnish
Notes: Makes about 22 cookies. The original recipe referenced in the video is from Food52. I used Organic Hawaiian Ginger Sea Salt from Laulima Farm for the garnish — a gift from a friend :) And to ensure these cookies are vegan, choose a chocolate with few ingredients; cocoa butter is vegan. Directions for Super Easy Chocolate Chip Cookies:
1) In a bowl combine flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Stir in chocolate chips and set aside.
2) In a second bowl whisk white sugar and brown sugar (or use fingertips) to remove lumps.
3) To sugars, add water, canola oil and vanilla. Whisk until silky smooth and slightly emulsified.
4) Add flour mixture to sugar mixture and fold until just combined.
5) Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate for 6 hours.
6) To bake, preheat oven to 350(F). Place tablespoon sized dough balls onto prepared baking sheet and press into cookie shape. Sprinkle with coarse salt and bake 11-12 minutes, until golden.
7) Best served warm and fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
